Colours of the South

Light, landscape, and the habit of looking closer

Nature has always been there, gently nudging artists along. Sometimes as a muse. Sometimes as an excuse. And sometimes as a reminder that all of this, colour, form, gesture, comes from something far bigger than us.

Nature as a starting point

Forests, dunes, calm seas, urban parks, forgotten corners. No hierarchy.

Here we talk about how places shape the act of making: how a certain light shifts a palette, how wind forces simplification, how a landscape sneaks into a piece even when it wasn’t invited.

Some stories are well known. Others are small, easily overlooked. Both matter.

Art as a form of care

Art doesn’t save the world, but it helps us care for it a little more. And what we care about, we tend to protect.

No grand speeches. No warning signs. Just attention, respect, and time.

The South as a place (and a state of mind)

The South appears here often. Southern Spain, especially. But also other souths—geographical, emotional, personal.

Places where light leads, where the rhythm is different, where beauty rarely announces itself.

We’ll walk through them slowly, talking about routes, specific places, artists, everyday scenes.

No rush. This is more about returning than arriving.
